Multiple measurement functions have been integrated into one machine. It can complete the full-dimension measurement of a transmission shaft in tens of seconds. The operation is simple, and it is suitable for in-line inspection.

Background of the Application

Low vibration and low noise in the high-speed rotation is the basic quality requirement of the automobile transmission shaft. Additional to the tolerance of the grinding diameter difference, tolerance of runout, roundness, cylindricity, and coaxiality is strictly required.
Traditionally, many measuring instruments such as micrometers, profilometers, roundness meters, and concentricity meters were commonly used in inspection. However, the operation of probe-type tools requires trained personnel and is time-taking and labor-intensive. It is only suitable for laboratory inspection, not for in-line.

Solution

The Precision Type Measuring Machine TIMI 30P/TIMI 40P is excellent for the measurement of the transmission shaft’s outer diameter, grinding diameter difference, roundness, cylindricity, runout, and coaxiality. TIMI measuring machine can measure shafts up to 600mm in length.
