Fasteners’ fixture and positioning

The TIMI-series’ measuring repeatability for R0.5 is up to ±1µm, better than that of the profilometer. Their precise and fast measurement performances meet the needs of full inspection for aerospace fasteners.(Precise-Type: TIMI34P; Auto-Type: TIMI34RZ)

Background of the Application

The tolerance of arc radius is particularly strict (a few microns in general) due to the mechanical strength requirements of aerospace fasteners. Traditional measuring tools like profilometers are hard to meet the requirements of measuring repeatability. As the way of probe operation requires well-trained operators, and the price and maintenance costs are also high, so it is not appropriate for common use of fasteners measurement.

Solution

The precision-type TIMI 30P or auto-type TIMI 30A image measuring instrument can automatically measure the Arc by using a quick button once the fastener is properly clamped in a fixture.
