Background of the Application

The customer is a manufacturer of automotive fasteners in the south Taiwan. In order to meet the demand for high-quality and customized automotive fasteners, the company has introduced high-end forging machines and enhanced design and development capabilities. They also aim to provide customer satisfaction that exceeds expectations through high-precision and high-efficiency production and error-free quality.
High precision and 100% production yield are the goals pursued by the company. With the trend of efficient and high-quality workpiece design changes, such as how to quickly and precisely measure critical dimensions such as thread concentricity, and how to efficiently achieve the customer's full inspection quality requirements. Additionally, after expanding the plant and implementing production automation, inspection work has fallen far behind due to labor shortages and factors such as the inability to measure automatically, which affects the delivery schedule.

Features

Projectors and 2.5D image measurement devices are both used to measure the dimensions of parts. However, many critical dimensions still rely on manual inspection. Insufficient automation cannot meet the measurement needs of mass production. In addition, contour gauges are needed to measure the R-angle under the head, which compensates for the shortcomings of projectors and 2.5D. Therefore, measuring all dimensions of automotive fasteners requires at least three or more measuring tools.
In-process inspections in the production workshop show that errors made by night shift workers are more obvious in terms of measurement frequency and precision of measurement record copying. This leads to incomplete or invalid measurement data, making it difficult to conduct meaningful analysis and feedback.
